Biography

Zyg Zayler graduated with a Law and Science Degree from Monash University.

Having completed rigorous Articles under Peter Redlich, Senior Partner of Holding Redlich & Co, Zyg chose to join Donald Campbell, Solicitor, and for a period of 10 months began to hone his skills in the area of Criminal Law.

Zyg then went to the Victorian Bar, where he spent 5 years doing varied work as a Barrister. However, Criminal Law continued to be the majority of work that he undertook.

Having known Rob Melasecca for many years prior to this, Zyg joined forces with Rob, initially with Melasecca Tobin & Zayler, and then Melasecca Zayler, and from the early 1980’s until the present time, has practiced mainly, and then exclusively, in the area of Criminal Law, becoming an Accredited Criminal Law Specialist in the first-examined intake of Law Institute Specialists in this area.

With over 30 years of experience in Criminal Law, Zyg has been involved in some of the most high-profile cases in this Country. Zyg acted for Alan Bond, in his victorious appeals to the High Court of Australia.
